I've been asked this question many times. I've given it a lot of thought. When I see a beautiful image, I want to recreate it on canvas. It doesn't have to be an exact copy. I just want to get into that world and be a part of it. When I paint a portrait, I want to capture the essence and spirit of that individual. I hope that what I capture pleases others as much as it pleases me. Painting fulfills a need in me, it puts my mind in another realm that no one else shares until I complete my painting.
